Skiing in Kulinoto

Kulinoto ski centre can be divided into two parts. The lower part of the ski zone is almost flat and since it is wide, it provides perfect conditions for beginners. There are two Pomagalski drag-lifts and they start from this part of the slope. The upper part of the ski zone is steeper and more suitable for advanced skiers.

Kulinoto has one main ski run. It was made somewhere in the 1980s with the voluntary labour of the local people. The total length of the ski run is 1300 meters and its highest point is at 1600 meters above sea level. The ski run is maintained in perfect conditions all through the skiing season, which lasts till mid March. There are two snow grooming vehicles which maintain the snow.Kulinoto ski center is usually busy at the weekends when skiers from Sofia and Blagoevgrad come to this place to have a day or two of skiing adventures.A big investment plan is signed and started being realized. The investment includes lengthening the ski run in Kulinoto ski center and building a chair lift. There is also a plan for making some new ski runs on the southern slope of the mountain. There will be intermediate ski runs with average inclination of 25% and a ski run for advanced skiers with 33% inclination. All this will definitely make Kulinoto another very popular and modern ski center in this part of the country
