Places to visit in Parshevitsa

Parshevitsa resort is situated near the town of Vratsa, which is just at the foot of Vratsa Range of the Balkan Mountains. The town of Vratsa is a starting point for the tourist routes to the Parshevitsa Hut, Ledenika Cave and Skaklya Waterfall. The famous Hristo Botev’s Alley of Death, the Okolchitsa peak monument, is situated above the town.

Vratsata Gorge is a narrow mountain pass, located just half a kilometer away from the city centre. Its cliffs of karstic origin are a place preferred by alpinists. There are more than 70 climbing routes of different levels and difficulty. An impressive 400-meter high vertical wall is a favorite rock climbing place. Lots of national and international climbing contests are organized at that spot.

Ledenika Cave is a major place of interest and a popular national tourist attraction in this region. The entrance of the cave is at 830 meters above sea level. The interior of the cave reveals a lot of vivid karstic formations - stalactites and stalagmites. The temperature inside the cave varies from -7 to -15°C, and the air humidity is 92%. The region of Vratsa there are more than 500 cave, most of them are not as popular as Ledenika Cave.
